Advanced features and functionality, but simple and easy to use.

  Feature Description
> Explorer-like backup files selection Select files/folders to be backed up in an easy to use interface
> Backup data compression Compresses backup data before it leaves your computer. Saves time and network bandwidth during backup.
> Delta file technology Backs up only the changed parts of large files. Saves time and network bandwidth during backup.
> Include/Exclude backup filter Include or Exclude files from your backup easily by setting a filter. e.g. *.doc, *.xls
> File-level incremental backup Only backups up files that have changed since the last backup. Saves time and network bandwith during backup
> Backup Scheduling Your backups will run automatically according to schedules that you set. Advanced scheduling allows you to specify multiple schedules for each set of files that you want backed up. Schedule special monthy, quarterly, or annual backups. Simple user interface.
> Backup data validation Verifies data integrity before it is stored on the backup server.
> Deleted file retention Retains backups of deleted files in case you need to recover them. Fully user customizable data retention policy allows users to have access to deleted files using the least possible storage space on server.
> Pre/Post backup commands Automatically run specified commands before and after backup operation.
> Automatic software update Automatically updates the backup agent software on your computer when needed.
> Scripted backup Backup jobs can be started by command line.
> Low priority service Backup jobs run at low priority allowing user to continue to work unaffected while backup is running.
> Logoff/Shutdown after backup The backup job can logoff the user or shutdown the computer after backup.
> Browser enabled file restore Your backup files can be restored with only a standard browser.
> Web-based management console Check your backup files and space using a standard browser.
> Backup data encryption All backup data is encrypted before it leaves your computer. Your backup data is never transmitted in unencrypted form. Your encryption key only exists on your local machine. Only you can decrypt and read your data.
> Proxy and firewall support Backup data is easily transmitted through a proxy server or firewall.
> Restricted access You can restrict access to your data only to specified IP addresses.
> Email Notification Email reports can be sent automatically after each backup. Comprehensive backup report lists all files being backed up. Backup report is delivered automatically via email when each backup job completed.
> Missed/Failed backup report Notification via email if your backup fails for any reason.
> Delta / Incremental Configuration User configurable incremental / differential in-file delta backup mode (i.e. backing up only changes within a file since last incremental backup (or last full backup) according to each user’s preferences). Allows in-file delta backup mode to be overridden by each user individually according to backup time (e.g. enforcing full (or incremental or differential) backup of all files on every Sunday or the 1st day of every month).
> Backup Open Files Volume Shadow Copy backup (i.e. backing up files even when they are exclusively open, e.g. Outlook.pst).
> Offline Backup Great for laptop users who are not always connected. If the computer is not backed up within a specified number of days, an email is sent to the owner to remind them to connect and allow their data to be backed up.
> Logout Reminder Set Rhinoback to ask if you want to backup your data when you log out of your computer.
> Microsoft SQL Server Backup Support both full backup (database backup) and incremental backup (transaction log backup) for Microsoft SQL Server 7.0/2000 or above.
> Microsoft Exchange Server Backup Support both full backup (database backup) and incremental backup (transaction log backup) for Microsoft Exchange Server 2000/2003 or above.
> Oracle Database Backup Support both full backup (database backup) and incremental backup (transaction log backup) for Oracle 8i or above.
> Lotus Domino and Lotus Notes Backup Support both full backup (database backup) and incremental backup (transaction log backup) for Lotus Domino/Notes 5.0 or above.
> MySQL Support full backup of MySQL 3.2.4 and above.

> Backup Integrity Check Backup data are CRC validated before they are stored on the Rhinoback storage arrays. This ensures that the backup data is an exact match for the data stored on your computer. Periodic backup files validation on backup server ensures backup files are 100% valid and fully restorable when needed.
